Intro to Digital Media (ART194), Arizona State University, Phoenix, AZ, 2009-12

This studio course focuses on the basics of digital media in relationship to art making and design, including imagery, typography, sound, video, animation, and the internet. The class covers not only the technical dimensions of digital media (its hardware and software) but an appreciation of its conceptual and expressive aspects. The students will have the opportunity to employ a diverse range of techniques and familiarize themselves with a whole new landscape of contemporary artistic practices and themes. The majority of the course will consist of hands-on experimentation and production, supplemented by lectures, videos, visiting artists and academic research. Along the semester, students while gain knowledge and  appreciation of the history of digital media for the creation of fine art and design.
