“Graduate Seminar: Professional Development” (FA598), Washington State University, Pullman, WA, 2015

This professional practices seminar addresses the relationship between the graduate students´ studio practice and their professional one. The goals are to familiare first year graduate students with the process of appliying to teaching and artist positions, to articulate their artistic practice in writen form and orally, to conduct effective research of grants, exhibits and other artist oportunities, and to contextualize their practice within the contemporary culture. Students are required to give a formal artist presentation to a real audience on campus, to develop a website with their artist portfolio, to start a teaching portfolio and philosophy, and to apply and secure a grant, exhibition or artist residency.
