Telling stories through comics, workshop for beginners of all ages, cultural centers of Madrid, Spain, 2007

This comic workshop for beginners allows participants of all ages to learn about the basics of comic narrative, and to discover iconic graphic novels, and animation movies based on comics, that tell revevant stories: Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi (2000), La ascensión del gran mal by David Beauchard (1996-03), Maus by Art Spiegelman (1980), Palestine by Joe Sacco (1991-92). The class focuses on revisiting the figure of the hero and elevating everyday stories, characters and real people into the main protagonists of the story. Comics are not only platforms for fiction, fantasy and entertainement targeted to children, but critical media to tell historic, real, subjective and all kinds of tales to all types of audiences.
